Embraced by rich clear waters and diverse ocean topography, Marina Papagayo lies in the heart of the Gulf of Papagayo, and has a great array of different species and ecosystems, ranging from its prolific sailfish grounds to the growling surf of its beaches. Offshore, big blue, black and striped marlin patrol the edges, with 300lb plus yellowfin tuna always a possibility. Wahoo, dorado, and sailfish round out the crew-list, and boats venturing out to the deep from the marina will find a welcoming return at day's end, with plenty of options for relaxing and dining out.
The inshore fisherman will find huge roosterfish, amberjack and several different species of large snapper within several minutes of the marina. Further potential lies in the estuaries and small river mouths nearby and with a range of species to choose from there is always something to excite both the serious trophy hunter and the whole family.
